Feeling lost in the business world?

Who am I?

Discovering you!

One thing I have found during sessions with my clients and also my own processes around content creation, product and mapping was that I felt lost about who was the real Hannah.

Having been in a corporate industry for so long I knew I was more than the marketing manager, meetings, email campaigns and the formal corporate wear. There was so much more to me, my hobbies, passions, and the little things that light me up.

This exercise has been a game changer for me as is something I use in all my coaching sessions.

This blog will help you get an understanding of who you are, your secret sauce.

Exercise 1: Me on a Page

Understanding who you are and getting all of your magic on a page is a great way to discover your passions (the big and small), your gifts, values, likes, and loves.

The Process

  • Put your name/nick name in the middle of the page and grab a colour pen

  • Answer the following questions by writing just one or two words - run through this list quickly.

  • Aim fill the page

Questions to ask yourself

  • My Favourite Foods? e.g. tacos, dark chocolate, strawberries, blueberries, chicken nuggets, tangelos, cacao

  • My favourite colours? e.g. teal, purple, black and white

  • Favourite things? e.g. the smell after the rain, gin cocktails, cat toe beans,

  • Keywords that resonate with me? e.g. freedom, empath, integrity, tenacity

  • What makes you laugh? Mafia (my cat)

  • Favourite places? e.g. Bali, beach,

  • Favourite flowers? e.g. Peonies, roses, daisies,

  • What are your Hobbies? e.g. cooking, skateboarding, cacao ceremony, long walks, nature

  • Dreams: whales,

  • What makes me, me? e.g. left-handed, noodle, flexible, freckles, tattoos, projector

  • Quotes: Glass is refillable, long game,

  • Favourite things in your house? Cushions, crystals, moon, activewear with pockets

Keep the page close by and add to it - your brain will come up with lots of extra things once you have got your creative juices flowing.

Exercise 2: Zone of Genius

This exercise will help you align what you are good at and will work with set the foundation for your business, online digital products and also your personal brand, tone of voice etc.

You may be currently working full time, or like me a mix of remote working and raising a little one. Or you may be out of the workforce completely. The idea is to write down on a page ALL the things you are good at.

Process

  • Put your name/nick-name in the middle of the page and grab a colour pen

  • Jot down in different colours all the things you are good at - big and small.

My Example

  • Being a mum - patience, time management, creating meals from scratch/few ingredients, play, voices, multi-tasking

  • Marketing strategist - big picture thinker, 30 ft vs small details, systems, processes, steps, taking people on the journey, collaboration, coaching, mentoring. Digital systems, marketing best practice

  • General work: Focus, admin, asking good questions, understanding team strengths, delegating

  • Life Coach: Asking good questions, time management, intuitive focus, coaching, seeing the big picture, holding space.

Quick Tips

1) Use lots of different colours

2) Don’t over think it - let it flow

3) All ideas are great if you are censoring yourself its time to stop!

YAY!

WOW! So look over the pages and soak it all in. These are all things that make you, you! Keep it somewhere where you see it daily.
